Education

KIRF INDIA provides children's academic and adult health and literacy educational programs for the rural poor in partnership with local community leaders and non-profit partners in Bihar, India. Our Education Centers are established in primarily illiterate villages. The concept of education for these Dalit children is new, especially for girls. Schools begun with the local villagers and initially funded by KIRF India are listed below.

Kirwin James International School in Shekharwa Primary & middle school
Opened: 2009
Serving: 100 students, boys and girls, 5 to 11 years old
Curiculum: Hindi, Math, English, Writing, ,health, and sewing centre for youth

Generous donors and local community support have enabled KIRF India to purchase the land, building materials, necessary permits as well as school supplies and teachers' salaries. TheKirwin James International School is within walking distance of the rural villages of Shekharwa and Mathiani near Bodhgaya. The school hosts the Sewing Center – a vocational training and certificate of achievement opportunity for its students.

Physical education and cognitiive enrichment: sports equipment, educational board games, art supplies provided by KIRF India
Faciiities: classrooms, land and well water provided by local government.
Uniforms: provided by KIRF India's non-profit partners in Bermuda
Health care: Nutrition therapy, health and medical care are provided bi-monthly with use of KIRF INDIA'S jeep by a local Indian non-profit's mobile health clinic in partnership with the Root Institute.
